About Us
The Paediatric Haematology/Oncology programme in Bristol serves the South West region (approximately 5.5m people) with 150 new paediatric cancer patients diagnosed each year. There is an extensive shared care network which means we work in partnership with hospitals around the South West to deliver chemotherapy and follow-up where possible as close to home.
These hospitals are Gloucester Royal Hospital, Royal United Hospital Bath, Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton, Yeovil District Hospital, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Derriford Hospital Plymouth & Royal Cornwall Hospital Truro.
Depending on each patient's specific needs, they may receive treatment on one of a number of our dedicated facilities:
Starlight Ward - Our primary inpatient ward for BMT, Haematology and Oncology
Apollo 35 Ward - Our Adolescent ward
Ocean Unit - Our Outpatient and Day Attendance unit
Bluebell Ward - Our Paediatric Neurosciences ward
Area 61 - Our Teenager and Young Adult unit
